During a bicycle tour through Finland in 1993 we had an idea about how to thank the locals for their hospitality. Armed with a knife, my brother carved a wooden cross, while I formed the body of Christ from old iron wire, which was then nailed onto the cross.
Such crosses have since multiplied. The Christ figures are between 40cm and 120cm high and are formed from one continuous piece of wire. The used wire length is 20 to 50 meters. The alternative copper wire version can subsequently also be coated with glass. The already fabricated glass crosses can be doused with leftover oven glass from Riedel/ Kufstein or the vocational college for glass blowing in Kramsach.
